Grade II Listed Exterior Restoration

Preserving the character of a heritage property requires a sensitive, considered approach—and this Grade II listed exterior project is no exception. The scope of works included specialist painting, traditional repointing, and refurbishment of original timber windows, all carried out with respect for the building’s historic fabric.

The exterior was finished with a sympathetic colour palette, applied using specialist paints suited to listed buildings. This project balances preservation and performance, breathing new life into the building while honouring its architectural legacy.

-
The sash windows were painstakingly repaired rather than replaced—retaining historic glazing where possible and improving energy efficiency through discreet upgrades. -
As part of the Grade II listed property works, the original front door was carefully stripped back to bare timber, removing layers of old paint to reveal the door’s original detail and grain. This process was carried out using non-abrasive, conservation-appropriate methods to avoid damage to the historic woodwork. -
The repointing was completed using lime mortar, carefully matched in tone and texture to the original masonry, ensuring both longevity and authenticity.
